I had started a post about this car before and had Al delete it. I have found out some more info about the car and thought I would see were it goes this time. The car was sold out of RI to some one in PA,and now I was told that the guy in PA knew it was a COPO and is having it restored. Does any one know of a COPO in PA getting a frame off resto done. Ed

Well Dan, if you know who owns it and it's not for sale, why not just pass this info and Ed's contact info to the current owner and let him do with it what he will?

Is the current owner a member of this board or another that deals with these cars?

You'd think he'd get pretty excited over thos vintage pics, not to mention any other stuff that might exist.

This Camaro's in Georgia and has been certified by Bob Johnson as being the Rallye Green, 4 speed, copo that was originally sold to Adrian L. Adrian raced it under the name 'Rat Patrol' in the Rhode Island/Boston area. Sold it to his brother Mario, who parted the engine and trans from the car. Mario sold it rolling with under 2K miles to Tom D and Anthony P who are shown racing in the above pic. Tom told me that they were the one's who tubbed it, added the Dana rear, SS emblems and painted it black.
This one may not have ever been found had Ed James not posted pics here & on Detroit HP and later found by Dan Palchanes though an ad on Racing junk. It has been raced it's entire life.
Thanks to both of you for your involvement in the hobby to find this and other rare cars & to Bob, who is an icon in the musclecar world and a great guy to know:beers:
Anybody remember it or have a pic when it raced as 'Rat Patrol"?

Guys,I knew about this car because of a old Racing Junk ad when I bought my 69 Camaro with the Traco 0-Dash casting code from PA.This car Jude has was sitting next to my car for sale at the time.I didn't know what it was but suspected it could be a possible COPO.By the time a found out about it was sold to a guy in NY.Ed James posted a picture of it later on and then I knew I needed to find it so I contacted the guy in PA that had my car and this now Scuncio COPO.He couldn't remember his last name but did remember his first name and that it went to NY.So not much to go on at that point. So one day I'm on Racing Junk and see a guy in NY selling 2 1969 Camaro Black doors that were mentioned to be original ralley green.Could this be the guy I thought, hmmm gotta call.Well I called and it was!! Unbelievable I thought! Told the guy I would buy the Camaro but at the time he wouldn't part with it.I told him don't put fiberglass doors on it keep the originals. Anyway he took my number and told me if he ever sold it he would call me.Well he did,but at the time I wanted just the body and he wouldn't break it up.He wanted a lot of money for it that way so I passed. Then I realized things were not good later on with the economy and passed the info onto Jude. Jude called at the right time and pulled the trigger.I did do a prior inspection for Jude on the car and went to see the car in NY.I was really in awe of how neat this car was and my friend Andy who went with me told me he would buy the car with me.Times are not good right now for me,plus I would never never go back on my word.I gave Jude my word and said it yours Jude, complete the deal! I took lots of pictures that day and was real happy another Scuncio Copo's been found.I have pictures of the time slips too car was running in the high 9's.I have a real nice picture of it leaving the line with wheels in the air!I told Jude leave the car Black with the wheely bars and parachute! I believe the odometer showed very few miles too. Jude,Good luck with the Scuncio Copo, you've got a awesome COPO!!!

Dave, guess it could be the same car as it IS missing it's trim tag and I doubt there are 2 RG painted black race cars missing their TT. Ed James seemed to think that a past owner may still have it. That issue doesn't bother me as lots of old race cars seem to share that fate. As a precaution, I called Bob Johnson who verbally confirmed it's heritage and then certified it with his document.
Clint, I'm hunting parts for the restoration. I bought it rolling and need an engine & trans among a lot of other stuff. I don't think I'll go back to show room cond, but paint it RG & leave it tubbed & caged like your Vitar COPO. That could change and that's why I'm hoping to get a pic from when Adrian raced it as Rat Patrol. However, I see no reason that it shouldn't retain it's current style and be a Pro Street COPO:yes:

I don't think Ed J really knew where the car went after it was sold off the racing junk ad by Mike C. But he posted that knew it was a Scuncio COPO... it still retains it's 4 speed brake pedal and I believe it's radio delete.
As Dan said, he found the new owner after he had place an ad on RJ to sell the, original Rallye Green-now painted black, doors. Very good detective work.

Tim,Funny you mentioned ED and his info,he never gave me the vin on this car but always wanted to know where it was.I PM him many times yet he wouldn't share that info.I ask maybe give me the last 4 numbers of the last 6 ,something but yet he wouldn't.Maybe it had somehing to do with me leaving RabbitsToys/Detroit Horsepower when I was a moderator under the screen name MOTIONHARRELLYENKO.I helped ED in the begining with research and later on he found Bob Johnson and Bob shared his info with him.I liked ED,seemed to really be passionate about these cars when we use to talk on the phone all the time and help and share info.

Maybe it is just me, but if I had the info Ed has, I would try and find some of the cars before I revealed anything to anyone. Why should he obtain the info and release it freely? Why do some people think everyone is "entitled" to it? I don't see anyone else saying "Hey, there is a Yenko Camaro at 100 main street in Lancaster PA. with the original owner. I am trying to buy this car. Owner said he would sell cheap. Any help appreciated. Here's his phone number" :) :) :) Another thing that irks me is people calling on a rare car for sale and declaring they are selling it WAY to cheap, don't you know what you have? :) Why? Because they have no interest what-so-ever, and ruin it for anyone looking to get a deal they otherwise could not afford IMO.

I commend Ed for his efforts. Don't know him personally, but his posts/history reflect that he is a stand up guy that is truly dedicated to the Scuncio sold cars. He definitely should be the authority on those cars.

That is true in a sense. Bob Johnson mentioned that all of the info that Ed has came from him. I was also told that they had purchased other dealer doc's together.
Bob doesn't have computer access, so I believe that Ed has been the 'front man' in the partnership. You're correct that Ed is helpful and deicated to the hobby.
Finding and buying documentation is part of the restoration process and I have no problem paying for credible information whether it's Yenko stuff from Warren D or Scuncio doc's from Bob and Ed
Bob sent me copies of some documentation on 11-12 cars (which I'm sure Ed has too) If the cars can be located I'd ask that any $$ paid for those doc's be sent directly to Bob. My position is that they're technically his.

Not sure of the agreement Ed and Bob have, but that is their business. I have paid woo-koo bucks for docs/information/letters. Sometimes it is the only way to get peoples attention. On one car, I offered 10k for original docs, and was turned down, yet he sent copies for free. :) I have had dealerships send original docs at N/C also. Of course, you wouldn't pay big bucks to document a 1970 6 cylinder Nova, but the right car commands it. I have no problem paying for information pertinent to the car. IMO it deserves to be with it. If I ever found a car on Ed's/Bobs list, I would glady pay up.
