Hey guys, I am considering changing my CAM on my stock 68 BB. Car has all stock components and the 350hp engine with the RS grill. Is it possible to change the CAM without removing the engine? Looking for replied from folks that have actually done it.

Yeah. You have to take out radiator and shroud. Since you are going down that far, might want to just pull the engine out the car and freshen up the engine and under the hood if it needs it... Just an idea...

The engine only has 1100 miles on it. No need to freshin up anything. I am just not happy with the CAM that the engine builder put in the car. I am not going to change it if I have to pull the engine. Only going to do it if I can leave the engine on the mounts and in the car. Changing heads while I am at it.

I meant a cosmetic freshening. New decals, clean and polish things and wipe crud out of the corners. New coat of paint here and there... You can change the cam with engine in the car. You have to remove the radiator and shroud. I dont remember, but you may need to tilt the trans down in the back just a little to get a better angle on the cam going in the block. I dont remember. Somebody help me here... I know it can be done though... I did it. But if you have the tools and lift, it will save your back doing it out the car... Good Luck... Jess
