Suggest a stall converter

Hi guys ,what stall conv. for the cam I will be running ,its the cam that comes in the ZZ383, I will be purchasing
in the next month or so (I had a little hold up so had to put off for late Christmas gift to myself) the duration does seam mild so ,(I am not a motor guru ) I was thinking 2,400 stall and was suggested to me, even was suggested 2,200 ,if I go Auto (slight chance I may go Turmac TKO5000) I just want to get the right setup ,suggest away ,Thank you in advance and Meyrry Christmas to All at T/C...Happy Motoring :)

Your duration is not that radical. You can get by with a Corvette converter (2000 or so) but I would go more. A bigger (smaller diameter) or higher stall will make it more enjoyable to drive. If you get a locking converter it will be a joy to cruise with, other wise install the biggest tranny cooler you can find and stay around a 3200 to 3400 RPM.

Dave do you mean 2200 to 2400 RPM ???,I called Bowtie O/D's last nite suggest 2,200 for that cam ,I told them more a street cruser ,and few trips to the strip a yr. The dyno# Hosepower: 450 @ 5,600 RPM
Torque: 488 @ 4,400 RPM
Max. Rec. RPM: 6,000 RPM

Thanks Doug ,Gilbert Chev also rec's. a 2,000 to 2,200 for that motor,(lots of Torque )where I am going for my motor...Merry Christmas and Happy motoring
