For street handling, you will want a good size front sway bar.
Firstgens with leaf springs usually don't need rear bars. Your best bet on deciding is to just feel how she corners. If she understeers (pushes out) in a hard steady turn (cloverleaf?) then a rear bar may help balance things out.
My car doesn't need one, she's pretty neutral and I can easily bring the tail out with some throttle.
As Jim pointed out...go with a bigger front one than the orig...that one won't make that much diff. And again as he pointed out, the early Cams can get away without any rears.
You don't need sway bars. My car also has SFC's, Caltrac's, split mono's, drag shocks, etc. and I do not have a sway bar on the front or rear. If your car rolls too much for your liking on the street then put one on the front. :beers:
If it's street driven you need a sway bar on the front at minimum. The bigger diameter the better. It controls body roll on turns. Leave it off and you will be able to tell somthing ain't right on a turn.Helps a LOT with high speed stability if you are, ahem, on a public road and it isn't a straightaway.
Thanks for input, mostly street/hwy driven, going to try and hit the odd 100' and 1/4 drags:hurray:
