Sounds like your voltage is dropping when you turn on the headlights. Put a voltmeter on the pink wire and see what happens when you turn on the headlights. Also check the voltage right at the alternator when you turn on the headlights.
 
It sounds as if there is a radio frequency interference issue. I would move/disassociate any tach signal wire to its own specific ground.
RFI comes and goes when the headlights are turned on/off? That’s some magical RFI….
