I'd like to put a late model camaro 5-speed transmission in my '68. I have a Muncie M21 in it now with 410 gears and would really to go to the overdrive. I've heard lots of talk about this swap but have never been able to find anything detailing what all is required. I would appreciate any information available from someone who has already done this or knows someone else who has.

Thanks

Did you do a search on this website?

I was considering the same swap and I found a ton of info here. I seem to recall at least one post where someone listed every item necessary to do the swap plus total cost. Search under "5 speed" or "Tremec" since you want the OD.

if you plan on doing much "spitited" driving, avoid the T5 tranny used in 80's-92 Camaros. i guess they are junk. either get a T56 6 speed from a 93-97 F-body and a kit to install it, or get a Tremac and stuff it in.
