My generator light illuminated and stays illuminated. I checked the battery and its reading 15.3V and the readings off the alternator and the voltage reg. is 15.3V. The 67 service manual shows adjusting the voltage regulator with the cover off but, the cover is not removable. There are rivets holding the cover on, my question is..

Is this voltage regulator that I have adjustable?

Or is there another type that has a removable cover?

Thanks for any help provided.

Yes, the v/r is adjustable, drill out the rivets and use a couple short sheet metal screws.

With cover off, one will see a spring attached to two tabs. bending the tabs towards each other decreases voltage. There might be an adjusting screw, higher priced v/r's had screws, ccw to decrease, cw to increase.

Adjust the v/r when it is warm/hot, min 13.5 with lights, ac, wipers on, max 14.8 volts with engine running only.

Might have to take to alternartor shop for adjustment, or buy a new one from store.
