WANTED 69 camaro bare shell

Im looking for a bare shell - Main tub - even if its rough n rusty ...
JUST NEVER WRECKED

i have a guy that wants me to fix his and it was in a accident ( HIT MY A MACK TRUCK I THINK ) at some time and has been so hacked up , i thought i would try to find another body to start with.

we can fix his but its gonna be cheaper to find a better core.

Im in Northern INDIANA so closer would be better but open to others.

even tho this one is toast , it would still be cheaper than 13,399.00 for a new body.
or , without all the outter structure 7500.

i just thuought i might find one someone parted and it would be nice to start with one " NOT SO BAD "

worse comes to worse , i'll build a Jig off the 69 i have on the rotisserie and have a platform to start fresh.

I know but it never hurts to ask.

most of my friends tell me im way to lucky because i do find what im looking for usually but it takes due dilligence , time and effort but eventually it comes arond.

a guy bought one for 2800 - asked me to come look it over and WELD ON THE NEW 1/4 panel.
So i went to look the car over ...HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLY C R * P !!!

it needs from the firewall back replaced..THIS THING WAS HAMMERED on the drivers side, and HALF GONE and SO UNBELIEVABLY HACKED UP PREVIOUSLY , beyond any i have ever seen ..AND IVE SEEN AND DONE A LOT OF THEM.

it needs a roof , a full rocker , a full inner rear 1/4 section , a full rear 1/4 , a full floor , a full trunk , a tail panel , a full rear dutchmans panel ( between the rear window and trunk lid ) trunk hinges , dash top , probably a front a piller frame from the pinch weld up..

I can put it all back together and will , just thought i would look for a rough shell thats all there befor i have him order all the new parts.

its not something im starting on at this time , i have another 69 to finish paint n body , but as soon as its done ...its next ...and my 69 and 67 convert are waiting as well...lol
IT NEVER ENDS.....but i wouldnt change a thing.

He needs a new car. If he paid 2800 and buys the new parts plus the labor to install and finish it will cost more then if he bought a completed car with a good body.

i know . thats why im looking ... but he says hes ok with doing that one so either way , im willing to help him build his dream .

but anybody with money can go buy one ...it takes a real car guy to build one.
i actaully get more out of the build than i do owning them .
plus theres a couple reasons to go forward.... pride of accomplishment and KNOWING whats actually been done to the car so you know what you have.

theres a lot of hidden issues when you buy a done car , doesnt matter if it has a 5K tag on it , or 100K tag ...
it amazes me that some go to such an extent to build a car and then close to the end , take shortcuts... we've all seen it ! ya know.

plus , we save another one from going to the scrapper..

maybe for some a nightmare , maybe for us , a challenge and im always looking for a good challenge.


actaully , if we put 3K in sheetmetal parts , and labor it will still be cheaper than buying a new aftermarket shell ....

the good thing is , every part is made to be able to do just this.

2 69s both Rally Green cars originally ...one with a white houndstooth interior , one with Black...Originally...
79 paint code on Both and one with 729* and one 711.

Coming to a new home in N INDIANA.

more when i get them home in a day or two.

the deals are still out there.

Dcorn bodies are not plug and play, are not built like a new GM shell and not to close tolerances. So after you lay down the cash for one there is more labor for panel and parts fit. And depending on the state's DMV laws, you can't just slap on your VIN.

Unless they have recently improved their manufacturing standards, it's often better to rebuild a GM body.

I will be glad to post some pics and the whole story once i get everything back..LOL

1 is a stock type , one is a Pro street project ..lots of parts N Boxes

its going to take a good couple days to go thru everything completely and i will have some extra parts for sale so KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN ! lol
Thats why you keep looking , Its out there somewhere and with the help of unknown good guys like Kirt ..it will turn up
i never would have found them had he not sent me a link .

Well , 2 trucks and 2 trailers heading North to get the cars n parts on SUNDAY...
trying to co-ordinate with everyone and the wonderful weather , i have to wait n b patient .. I HATE THAT !!!

should have pics and MORE INFO / IDEA of all thats there MONDAY sometime:
