hey guys
so here is what happened.....I was coming home last nite from a block party driving down the long island expressway ***Admin Edited*** all of a sudden, my car died. my lights were still on, so i ruled out that one of my batt cables came off. i pulled off to the side and the other guys pulled over too (THANK GOODNESS) I popped the hood and all looked good. i had fuel in the bowls i checked spark by using a little wire that MSD tells you to do to check it. i had spark. so i put the key in the ignition and went back to the engine. i have a starter switch located on my firewall and started the motor. it stumbled while i tried revving it to keep it alive. so i got it going and raised the idle a little just to be safe for the ride home.
Now earlier in the day i tried to solve my dieseling issue. i lowered the float levels to the bottom mark in the site window. i have the idle set at 800-900. initial is 15* BTDC total is about 32* at 3000rpm. Also when i got home it did not diesel. so sorry for the very long post. Could it have been a fuel starvation issue since i set the floats lower? I hope anyone will chime in and give their thoughts!!
thank you!!
-Steven
p.s To the two guys who helped me out by pulling over and giving me some light to see....THANK YOU!!!:beers:
