I have a 67 327 rs with a 4bbl 600 carb. The car is putting out 260 hoarses. I have the powerglide tran. I still have the stock cam and intake. Any ideas on the right combo for a performance intake and cam?
Don't know about how much hassle it is to install a cam in your car. Maybe the engine will tilt up high enough or maybe you might have to remove the grill. Heck the grill center member might be offset just enough that you won't have any trouble at all.?? But the cam will be worth the trouble.
Hardest part about the whole deal is getting to the front pan bolts and pulling the harmonic balancer off (as usual). Good luck if you bite for the install. pdq67
I didn't catch if you've added headers or not , but at the cam swap would be a good time to add them too. pdq67
Check out this little cam by Camcraft, 266/266, 109/105, .414" lift. 28-58/66-20 seat timing. The little sucker might be just the ticket for a slightly warmed over 327. Should make in the neighborhood of 345hp/375t easy with open headers.
It will probably "cackle" because of the short lobe centers, but should make good torque down low. I think it was mentioned in a prior post. pdq67
