Re: Incredible...!

Well...as original as that car is I was just hoping but like Charley says,if it's not on top of the tank,it's probably not there...drats!

Just read all 36 pages and all I can say is...WOW!
No way I'd restore that car,I'd photograph and document every possible square inch before I did anything then I would have it professionally buffed and polished by someone who has vast experience with untouched, original barn-find types of classic cars and then lastly, fire that 302 up and display it as one of the last unmolested, untouched original 1969 Z/28's to ever roll down the pike.

Then sit back and enjoy it...

Yep...that's what I would do if it was mine. You are the caretaker of the biggest wet dream most of us here will ever have in our lifetime...we trust you to do the right thing.

Re: barn find 69 z28

I will not take care of your wet dream. No way, I won't.
I will take good care of the car. Dennis
LMFAO...good one Dennis.
More pics of the car needed...ASAP!

Van,
I remember that car, wasn't it in a tow yard in east Los Angeles somewhere?
Yes it was ... I did the all nighter .. drove down , loaded it and drive home. If you know any stories about this car PM me . I would love to hear them .

Who's AMX?
I stole it :D

Re: barn find 69 z28

Dennis, what town did you find the car in, just curious I live just outside Portland, Ore in Vanc,Wa. and found my Field Find survivor BB Indy Pace car in a field in Hillsboro, Ore. ?? If we were close enough it would be neat to get some pictures of the two cars sitting side by side? Great find and congrats!!

I'm about 200 miles east of ya. Maybe you could drive up sometime, we'll take pictures and I'll give ya RIDE home.

Re: barn find 69 z28

Dennis what is the expiration year for the plates? I would have expected blue plates for a 69 Camaro registration with such low miles. My understanding is the yellow plates were 75-87. The plates on my 68 SS396 Chevelle were from a 72 Blazer with 29k miles.

Yes they should be blue. Thats why when I found the car ( the 2nd time) I thought it was stolen. Turns out he moved to washington for a short period of time ( plates were changed to white), then moved back to Oregon and the plates were changed back but were yellow now. It was a timing thing. Re: barn find 69 z28

Dennis,

I just finished reading this thread and congrats on a nice find!! Last June I found a 69 z with 33,000 miles, POP, dealer envelope, bottle of touch-up paint and many more things. The car was parked in the original owners garage since 1976 with the original paint, glass vinyl roof and smog equipment. The original cowl hood was stolen but replaced by the owner 1 year after he bought the car but never painted it (It still has the original gm stickers on it) I must admit at first I really did not know how lucky I was and at first I too contemplated restoring it but with alot of advise from this site and since the car is in pretty good shape I decided to leave it as is. It has been in my garage since and I have not done anything to it yet but take alot of pics. The point I am trying to make is take your time with the car because there are not many cars like yours. Good luck and let me know if I can be of any help to you!

Manny
