Does anyone know if the dash pad from classic industries that costs 350.00 is the same as the one offered by Ricks at 285.00

I understand classic has two different dash pads one is 100 bucks(350 vs 250) more than the other, is the quality that much better on the more expensive one?

Any experiances or info on this is appreciated.- Thanks Rich

Rich, did you ever find out any information about this? I'm curious as to whether the $350 dash pad at Classic is actually like an original dash pad or is as crappy as the other dash pads that have been available for '69s in the past.

I didn't know there was a new (I'm guessing) one on the way?

I've used a few of the OER pads without any issues.
Dave, does your pad sit crooked on the center of the gauges cluster?

The new OER pad is supposed to be made exactly like the original.

What baffles me is how it was possible to make these parts 40 years ago, and with modern manufacturing techniques nobody can make a decent repro part.

The OER urethane pads are a joke, I regret tossing my original.

The pad I got off Classic a couple yrs back, sat a bit off above the gauges but managed to get it to pull down and left in the hot sun for a few days
What realy p155ed me is the dash its self...has tiny air bubbles just under the surface that blow up like little balloons on a hot day....a couple larger ones I had to prick with a very fine needle.

I have both a GM and an OER new repro saved for my 69 coupe. I can tell you that just from test-fitting the new OER repro from CI that I bought, you will need to gouge out some foam underneath so that it does fit well on top of the center clock / fuel gauge area. I found that the mold allowed for some extra material (urethane foam) to collect there while it formed causing a "lump" if you will, which made the dash sit unevenly in that area. Everywhere else was a great fit.

I simply took a hobby knife and gouged some out to match my GM pad and VOILA!
