I'd like to see a Verdoro green.

I saw in the paint chart there are two Z codes, British Green Metalic (Camaro) and Inca Silver Mist Metalic. What's up with that?

Also I got to thinking about the color of the interior. Won't a black interior in a vert cause some heat problems when the top's down on a sunny day?

If you use the search icon and type in 1969 Rallye Green Z28, you'll find my welcome wagon post which has 5 pictures of my car. It's Rallye Green with black stripes, black vinyl roof and white interior. Hopes this helps!

Love Dennis' Fathom Green 69. I bought my car because it came from the factory with the code 57 paint.
If mine looks that good I'll die a happy man.
Most FG Camaro's have a white stripe be it Z-28 or SS. Would a different color work? If so, what color?

When I repainted my grandfathers 70 Caprice (it was a frost green, kinda) I looked at the color chips at the PPG store. They had hundreds of shades of green. I selected a close shade with a more modern pearlesent tint to it and I had wonderful comments. It really made the car pop. Most of the original colors just did not have the punch the newer hi-tech colors have. Take a look at their custom color book, in the green section, pick a color, have them mix the least amount they can and test spray the trunk or whatever and see what you think. We did the same with RamAirDaves 69 silver GTO. (He's my son) We had them mix a half a dozen shades of silver and test shot them on the hood to see what we liked best. Did the same with my 69 BB C-10 pick up. Try it you'll like it!!!!!

"Frank" was painted with DuPont Premier when it first came out.

I remember the "striped" hood. Couldn't decide on any of them and ended up with DuPont Premier, code 69 with coarse and medium metallic dumped in for a little "extra."

Check the link in my signature. My 69 was originally frost green. The "back in the day" picture is after I had it painted Cadillac Cinnamon Green off a 72 Caddy. I'm having it done in Rally Green (my sons choice) and it will have a black vinyl top and black/white houndstoorh interior.

Now that's green. Pretty but mighty bright.
I found out PUI has seat covers for 4th gen seats now but only in black with white/black houndstooth inserts. It's a replica of the 69 houndstooth. If I were going black interior I would consider it. I'd really like to put 4th gen seats in mine but I want white interior.

The paint seems to change color. At some angles and lighting it's darker and sometimes lighter. It's something about the amount of gold chips in it. I looked at several Rally Green cars and they were all the same way. The original paint doesn't seem to do this as much as the new base coat/clear coat paints. I'm looking forward to seeing it with the black vinyl top on it. That should give a good contrast.

OK now I'm leaning towards British Racing Green or something just a bit lighter. I'll go with white interior, top and stripe. If I do that, what color should the dash pad, carpet, kick panels, console and seat belts be? The dash metal and steering column will be body color. The dash that is in the car is a very dark green but the orginal interior is Ivy Gold. It will need to be replaced but I don't know if I order an Ivy Gold dash pad if it will be that same color.
I could make all those pieces black but I'm thinking body color would look better. I also see a dark green carpet is available. I wonder what that looks like.

I have another question on pearl. Isn't that what gives a paint job the specks deep down? Is it something you add to paint or does a particular color have to already have it? I saw a 1999 Silverado the owner said was Forrest Green. I liked it but it was flat so I'm guessing it didn't have any pearl in it.

If you want something a little lighter than British Racing Green, take a look at Toyota Racing Green.. Dashpad, carpet and kick panels should black. The Pearl is actually a fine mica dust that is mixed in just prior to spraying. Yes, when the sun catches it, it looks like the small metal flake.
