Anyone else watch the History Channel show called Cars that Made America? If not, I recommend it!. insightful short series of how auto manufacturers began.
All in any color the customer could ever want as long as the customer wanted black! And amazing is 15 million Model Ts built from 1908-1927
Yes when talking about the 64 GTO they had pics of 65sI was surprised to see the nascar people involved. That was an interesting side bar.
I don't know why they couldn't used original old black and white pics of the models they talked about. Instead they showed color video of the wrong year and model.
Still enjoyed it and was very interesting.
Yeah, seems to me a pic or video of a '64 would be easy. Speaking of which, what about Pontiac? I don't remember them mentioning the Oakland or Pontiac at all....Maybe they will do additional episodes with editing in some of the finer points. Much as they did with "The men that built America" series.Yes when talking about the 64 GTO they had pics of 65s
Still a great show. Learned a lot for sure
And John Deloreon street racing with factory cars. Haha
I think Durant wanted Chevrolet in name for publicity only. Durant was looking to compete with the Model T and Louis Chevrolet interest at the time was in racing. I think he later did go on to work with GM of Canada. Louis did develop an overhead valve six at that time but Durant rejected it.I enjoyed this show/somewhat biased, but was anyone else disappointed nearly no mention of the Camaro. Also, they mentioned Louie Chevrolet and didn’t elaborate much more about his contributions to GM.
I think it was mentioned as one of Iacocca's bigger hits once he took over Chrysler.Hard to fit everything in a 3 episode program.
A big game changer was the Dodge minivan. Didn't see it mentioned.
