Lot F191 next weekend. A friend has interest but it's a bit out of my element to put a number on as I lean more towards more original or older school cars. What do you think of the car and about what it might do? Thanx guys and gals!!!

Decent looking car. More of an Old School build

The detail under the hood is not very good IMHO. Firewall plate screwed on and the cheesy flex radiator hoses. V-belt when a serp belt drive would be better.

Set up more as a drag car.

The Rack and Pinion steering doesn't work well with a stock sub frame car.

Still probably worth $50K if body and paint check out. Buyer will pay the 10% buyers fee on the hammer price.

Good thing it comes with the "reverse" limiter in the 6AL box, will be much safer backing out of the driveway.

Not feeling it. Hate the stock door panels with modern seats look. Same goes for flex upper radiator hose....

Don

I would research the resto shop and the engine builder. The good is body panels line up well. I don't know how streetable that engine would be. The dash looks cheap to me and what are the 2 knobs in the radio hole ? Flex hose and screwed on firewall plate turn me off. Like John said probably a $50k car. Bidders love shinny/flashy paint.

You could not build that car for $35K. Would be a good deal if you could buy it for that.

Most Mecum cars are Reserve. I would be surprised if this one is no reserve.

I had a call from Barrett Jackson today asking to consign my 66 Chevelle with them here in Vegas in Sept auction.

I spoke about reserve and the risk of no reserve. I agreed with him that BJ no reserve has the best potential for big money compared to Mecum with a reserve.

While I agreed I also told him I’m not willing to take the risk.

I may live in Vegas but I’m not a gambler.

Yes, that's why I said it would be a good deal at 35. If its a decent build, I would expect 40-50K. Ith interior looks cheesy to me though.the dash and seats would turn me away. Radiator hose is no big deal. Firewall cover would have to go too, but i still stand at 40-50. After all it is the correct color.

Love the color. My 1st Camaro was an Orange White Stripe Z28 I bought brand new when I was 19 years old.

The DSE dash is nice and not cheap. I think it's suffers more not from lack of quality parts but lack of execution.

The radiator hose in itself is no big deal but to me is indicative of the entire build and lack of attention to detail.

I agree the dash is not cheap. I think if it was a color that blended in better would help for me. I put one in a 67 chevy II, and liked it. Just looks out of place to me.

You should gave asked then to forfeit their sellers premium if it did not meet your expectations. Wonder what they would gave said?

Unless they left out other information...a .030 over 454 does not make a 496...A .030 over 454 is a 460. Just my 2 cents.

I didn't think that Mecum would even show non-original cars. Every time I've watched their TV auctions the cars they are showing are cars with 5,000'ish original miles, driven on Sundays buy someone that had a lot of income to buy cars that they didn't need. They had numbers matching bodies, original paint, etc and might go north of $100,000 but I've never seen a conversion especially with a 454 placard which has never been stock in a Camaro. They never had anything larger than a 396.
