I have a set of 68 Camaro RS headlight assemblies and 67 RS fenders and inner fenders. I bought them when I didn’t know the difference between 67 and 68. My question is, can I just lop off the bottom portion of the pivot arms and turn them into the 67 electric style? Sorry for my ignorance, I bought my 67 with no front end at all so it’s been quite the learning process.

That’s funny. I used that setup in my 69 GTO to get rid of the vacuum stuff. It took a while to setup and some fabrication but it turned out great.

From what I’ve seen on here, the Chrysler headlight motors work good with the 68 setup that I have. They mount below and use the Firebird controller.
I’ve been checking the local pick n pull inventory to see if there are any firebirds but no luck yet.

I don’t care too much about everything being correct. I want the car to look somewhat original from first glance but that’s about it. It has a Gen V 6.2 and 8 speed so there’s plenty of non stock stuff.

I mounted the passenger side up after modifying the inner fender for it. My game plan is to use Firebird or Chrysler motors mounted under the inner fender.
I don’t want to start a new thread for this but do they look too angled to you guys or is that the way they sit?

nice score. i just completed the same swap on my 68. I used 67 rs door assemblies and used some relay logic to trigger the module off the Hi or low beam 12v source so the doors stay shut with the parking lights on.

So obviously, I just left the 68 assemblies intact. It’s actually a lot easier to have access to the motors from underneath vs. having to unbolt the headlight assembly to get to the motors.

I’ve yet to test the motors, I’ve just been rotating them with a 1/4 Allen key, so the plastic gears on one or both might have to be replaced. When I used these on my 69 GTO both of the motor’s gears were worn bad, causing the doors to not work properly if they hit any sort of tension.
