I'm working on a 69 super sport and having power window issues

Just replaced driver window motor , and I'm not getting a ground signal to the motor .. only two wires go to the motor , and they're supposed to reverse polarity in order for it to go up and down .. I have power alternating between the two feeds when I move the switch up and down , but no ground

I ran a jumper ground to one wire , and plugged other into the connector coming from the switch and was able to operate the window

I can't figure where the ground is actually coming from , and I'm not sure what reverses the polarity between the two wires for up and down movement

there must be a ground to the driver window switch panel , and I'm not sure where to look for it .. anybody have any info on where to start ??

And I'm thinking the switch itself is what would reverse polarity of the wires to the motor .. is this correct ??

Thanks in advance for any help

Yes , I guess I'm finding that out now .. and the replacement motors are not self grounding , so they won't work without some kind of reverse polarity relay .. so much for plug and play

Will try to call nu relics tomorrow , they say they have the relay prewired .. or maybe try to wire one up myself , if I can find a good explanation of it

Thanks for the input

You may want to check Classic Industries if you want plug and play. Changing to reverse polarity sounds like a PITA Especially for just one motor. Cardone used to sell them but I haven't seen them available for a while.

Look up "Mik Master" on Youtube. He has 2 short video's showing how to use 2 relays to create reversing polarity.

It doesn't look too difficult to wire up 2 relays to make up the polarity reversing switch .. but I'm wondering if I have to run another power wire through the door harness to the relays

also can I get the ground where the motor bolts to the door ??

and get the power from the original window motor wiring ??
( Which moves the hot between the two wires , depending on up or down )
