my 1967 Camaro is overheating it creeps op to 220 degrees it stayed at 180-190 then i changed the schrod old one was broken the new schrod seems to be closer to the motor the fan is completely inside the schrod could that be the problem?
i do not have the old one it is in the dump it look like someone cut it to fit that is why it cracked.Maybe post pics of the two shrouds.
Looks like the NOS one for a Camaro I have in stock, GM part #3893812 and the original one on my car and the other ones I've seen. That doesn't look like a Camaro shroud.. reminds me of one off a Monte Carlo or Chevelle

it overheats at idle also stat is new removed air belt is correct not slippingIf it is overheating while moving at a reasonable pace this is indicative of inadequate flow or an undersized radiator. Shroud & fan are for low speed and idling conditions.
When is the last time you changed the thermostat? Are you sure all air is out of the system? Belt tight on pump and not slipping?
i think you are right i am trying to find a way to solve itFor one thing the fan should be half way in the shroud, not buried in it as it appears to be.
i have a long water pump how do i solve the problem fan to far in schodIf you have a “long” water pump, that would likely cause this sort of problem.
Just an observation from where I sit.
The shroud looks like the one on my 67.
