Hi Guys,

Been working on my Brakes for my 67 RS Convertible for about a month and need help.

I replaced every brake lines, rubber hose and upgraded to Powered Disk brakes for the front.

Problem:

Car brakes lock up when going about 5-8 mph and feels like you are going through the windshield and passenger rear brake is locked up or skids.

The Master cylinder was bench bleed, I had 2 faulty Prop Valves, I made sure the Power Booster rod is on 2nd hole on Brake Pedal.

Please help.

If the rod in the master is too long the brakes will be very touchy and also drag. Jack up the car. See if the wheels turn easily by hand. If they do not turn easily and drag a lot, loosen the master from the power booster and try them again. If that helps, you need to shorten the rod or shim out the master from the booster with a couple washers.

Hi Tom, The rod is a very short one that came with the Disk Brake power booster kit.
You can turn the wheels with ease.

Let me give that a try, I already removed the master cylinder from the power booster.

Thanks

OK the rear wheel cylinders are brand new, with new brake kit, new hubs, new emergency cables, new rear brake line and new rubber hose.

I adjusted them a bit more and will bleed brakes again. Please note that this is a 100% new system.

Thanks again

Hi Tom, I adjusted the rear brakes, made sure brake pedal has some play. Bleed the farthest rear cylinder and noticed that while "the wife" is pressing the brake pedal and "Complaining about its to hot, to many mosquitos and it smells in this car" that I could spin the tire. The driver side wheel you can not turn by hand, so going to buy another wheel cylinder.
