I have an original standard hood off my 68 that I want to sell. It is in very good condition and I am not sure what I can get for it. Any ideas?

$100-150 Seems kinda cheap considering a replacement hood made overseas is about $250.
What's under the pretty paint would go a long way toward a higher price. Would be quite a co-incidence to be able to sell it to someone who could use the hood as-is.

Here in So Cal, standard hoods are a dime a dozen. NOBODY wants them (they all want the cowl hood or the SS hood.) $50 is the norm for a standard hood, 100 if it's in really good condition (and I mean REALLY GOOD!)

That is the way it is where I'm at also. There are 3 standard hoods for sale on Craigslist where I'm at not a one over $100.00 and they have all been for sale for months.

I just sold one on craigslist for $90.. I'd had it for 25+ years and had it for sale for as many.

Good Luck ! :beers:

Perfect original flat hoods around here go for $50-75. Or else they are for sale forever...

It is a shame, but they are not worth much here either. I scrapped the last few I had. Hell make a picnic table out of it. Then it is art and you might get $500.00 for it. I bought a GM cowl for $35.00 off CL here in VA two weeks ago, few dings but very useable.

I've been trying to sell one ($25, not perfect) for 3 months now. Seems like there is always 2 or 3 on local Clist here in the $100 range. Keep trying it will eventually sell.
Al, or anyone else from the Iowa area, send me an IM. I am one of the few who would like to put a flat hood on my car. I thought about a cowl hood, but there are too many out there on Camaros.
