Looks like several of us are coming back from a "long break"...I've been ordering parts for my 69, and actually looking forward to maybe hearing the engine start later this fall ;)

Need some help here guys. Getting around to installing some sheet metal this afternoon. New firewall is welded in and I'm test fitting the DSE tubs that I cut out the frame/floor a while back. I feel like I'm way off track here. Are the holes supposed to align like the factory outer/inner did? Here are a few pics for reference:

Also there seems to be a gap between the frame and wheel well. Was I supposed to add something there?

And lastly, when I originally cut everything (years ago), DSE didn't have the pdf plans and templates. I cut everything using a tape and a marker. Apparently I cut too much.....How do you suggest I rectify this?

Hey Chris! :beers: Awesome to see you back on here in action. Hope all is well with the family. Happy Easter!

My welding flanges on both of my Camaros' rear wheel wells did not line up at all. Not a worry. Most important is how your quarters fit and line up gap-wise with the wheel wells bolted or cleco'd in place. Also double-check that the flat portion at the tops of the wheel well openings is correctly "clocked" so that they line up with your quarters once installed. So, I wouldn't worry about those holes at all.

With regard to over-cutting on the trunk floor where it meets your tubs, you can always fabricate a flat patch for it that allows your trunk floor to meet your tubs tighter. Then -- remember, seam sealer will hide that gap as well.

Keep it up bro!:hurray:

Thanks! As soon as I get these wheel wells buttoned up it's off to the races with this build. I committed to myself to have a complete shell by year end. I know it can be done...just gotta put my Nike shirt on and "Just Do It"!
