Yes, the housings are identical in overall axle tube flange width of 54 1/4" and spring seat centerline of 42 7/16" according to "Chevrolet by the numbers" books. The 1st gen housings had a part number of 3894860NF however.

68-79 Nova and 67-69 Camaro rear ends have identical dimensions. A lot of the front subframe and suspension components from the 68-73 Nova are the same as the 1st gen Camaro too... they have a lot in common.

 

A 12 bolt positraction rear can go for over a thousand dollars easily. But... I bought a 3.07 single track 70 Nova rear axle for fifty. My very lucky day!

$1,900 sounds like pretty strong money. But, it has good parts in it, especially if that's the ratio you want. And it should fit easily.

Sometimes I may over pay for things. How much is your time worth, and how much of that time do you want to spend trying to find a better deal? For me, it's often just as important to make it happen and keep moving forward.

 

I think it’s cheap if housing isn’t pitted up etc. I had to get my mind of 1980-2000 year prices. I am not selling mine but wouldn’t let it go under 4 k or 3500 minimum.
