Looking for ducts and hoses and other equipment necessary to get the system hooked up

That would be great but since 69 Camaro Iowa hasn't responded, I kinda doubt he's still looking. His original post was in April 2023. You said they are 68 ac components, I'm considering putting ac in mine but haven't decided when. Good to know though Georgia68. I'm kinda in the same position with an outbuilding full of spare original parts for 67-69 Camaros. Gotta figure out what to do with them, otherwise I'll dispose of them as scrap metal. I know after market stuff doesn't always fit just right but kinda tired of housing all this stuff since 91. It's been boxed up and moved twice with us over the years. At 67 this has kind of turned into a pain.
Have a great weekend

I went the same decision with with all my used Corvair parts. No one wants used parts any more. They want NEW/NOS parts for their cars. Unfortunately, some have been burnt by shady sellers of used parts and others want the best for their not for show cars. Good used parts can be a cost saver and getlong life, but you convince the ones who have been burnt. So most of my used Corvair stuff has slowly been going to the recylce yard. I put it up for sale once on the forum and after 90 days, I pull the ad andmove the used itemsto scrap bin for recyling.

My used Camaro parts will get the same treatment. However, I don't see advertising used parts on this forum will render any sales, either. The used comfort steering wheel and blue interior are good examples. Both are still in my storage building. The medium blue interiorwas given a shot and it lost out. Too expensive to ship unless I give the items away, then it might be worth someone's time to pay for the shipping. I don't pack up free stuff and drive it 10 miles to ship. I lose money and time doing this. So, it will head to the trash can. I then gain more room on my shelves. Win - Win. These cabin mounted AC / vent duct pieces might be the exception, so I have to try with a proper ad with photos. There are about 18 pieces involved.

I have dealt with after market brand new stuff I bought and had to return because it didn't fit. Perfect example the chrome center rings for the headlight assembly on the car. 7" rings off of 7" headlights, replaced with a 7" halo headlight and the dumb thing wouldn't fit. Climbed up and pulled out the old ones I had, cleaned them up and they fit perfectly. But it was original from the car. The new ones fit over the original headlights but wouldn't fit over the new 7" halo lenses, so I got my money back when I returned them. After market parts are so iffy, and no one can see the lens covers anyway. I mentioned the 2 67 doors I have housed since 91 and they aren't pretty but still has the glass and vents perfectly intact. A little rust at the very bottom, under coated and no body putty, but when I load up everything, they will go for scrap metal. I have to have a certain weight to sell it so anything that's metal around here is gone. I have several wiring harnesses for the complete car but those I'll strip for the copper wiring, cause that brings better money. And since I have 30+ years of wiring and a new wire stripper, this should be fun and profitable. I've seen parts on Ebay that looks worse than the stuff I have, and it's not cheap. But like you I'm not that interested in the shipping and handling aspect of that. Easier to throw it in the scrape metal pile. I kinda feel bad about it but I'm not just going to give away perfectly good parts for free. Are you located in Georgia? Lol lucky guess. The best part about the original parts is, you know it's right when it snaps back together. Doesn't get much easier than that. Thanks for the heads up about listing stuff, I had my doubts all along. Just hadn't gotten that far yet, and glad you saved me the trouble. Have a great weekend and hope our paths cross while cruising in our cars. ✌

Hahaha, your absolutely right. Moved from 6 to 3 acres and a smaller outbuilding, but once I got the car assembled and painted decided it's time to lighten the load. At 67 moving that stuff that's inevitable in my way or blocking what I need to get to, it's time. Besides I never realized how much stuff the boys had accumulated all those years ago. 67-69 Camaro parts, lots of swap meets back then. The 67 doors amazes me honestly. George had a 67 that had doors, so these are clearly a shock. I do have some specific things that might interest a racing enthusiasts. I think that's what they were planning for my 68. Not quite what I wanted. So those things I'll sell separately. Post a better shot of your car if you don't mind. Here's mine

Is it all original? My dad had a 68 327 4 speed loaded with ac and less than 50 thousand miles on the engine. It was an RS but that ugly green they had back then and I couldn't get him to sell it to me to restore. Which was why I was determined to have one in a much better color. I do like the blue but this matched my nail polish. 😉

No. PO changed out the 327 4 spd and put in a 350 PG to faux SS it. They really screwed it up electrically and in the interior. So I have been going through it slowly to get it right and also making it my car with my mods to make it unique and meet my needs and wants. It does have dual exhaust, PS, air cond, and now power 4 wheel disc brakes. LED lights everywhere and all new wiring for everything. Medium blue interior was removed and a black interior installed. tach clock installed, gauges added to new console (old console put in my Corvair), speed minder speedometer added. I have touched everything to remove it to clean and paint or replace with new. My spreadsheet on the car has quite a few worksheet with hundreds of items that was touched, removed, replaced and/or added.

We even polished/painted the wheels to get themlooking better. I don't like the wheels, but budget issues forced me to keep them and do something to make them look better.

Wheels when I purchased the Camaro. I found some new center to replace the plastic American Racing centers. The new ones were aluminum centers from ebay. Hated the primer grey spokes and plastic centers. Sold the centers at a Corvair function.

Wheels as of today. Polished and satin clear coated the aluminum areas. Grey areas were cleaned, lightly sanded and painted graphite grey. Centers received SS decals I found that would fit the location. Much better looking with the car's paint scheme.

Very beautiful, I went with 17" Old School Chrome rims. Found them for a Phenomenal price online. Put 17x7 in the front and 17x8 in the rear. It had 15x8 on it. I really like the blue and would have gone Black if I hadn't figured out a way to pull off the color I have.

I'm still trying to find a lower duct for my 67 if anyone has one.

Part numbers is either 3895919 or 3919551 and look similar to this.

I'll look today. I have a bunch of parts I thought were for a 69 but I'll check it out. That piece looks familiar. Can I get back to you later?

It has damage. It came out of my car, after I found a better one. If I hadn'r found it, I was looking at repairing it waith plasic strips and heavy duty glue.

If you need any more under dash duct pieces or vent items, I can send you photos of what I have.

As a side note, I took a top shot of the bin containg the bin that hold my hent/vent duct pieces. This a my bin full of cabin ducts and vents pieces I have stored now for over 6 years. I am done selecting the pieces I needed to replace the missing pieces my car needed.

These pieces go under the dash, into the the kick panel area and in the plenum forward of the wndshield. Must be at least 25 pieces in this bin that I no longer have a use for and are still in good shape.

I will get them cleaned, identified with a part number, referenced to the 68 AIM page & item number. This will take a some time since I am in the middle of a main bathroom remodel. But I will post here in the for sale section, as time permits to see if there is any interest in them or if they are discarded, since they are not new parts.

Is that from original ac in the car. Mine doesn't have ac so I don't recognize these parts. I guess they don't work with aftermarket ac. Haven't checked into that over the years. But definitely have considered it the past 2 years. I have ceramic tint on my windows which reduces the heat but not comfortable in triple degree heat at all.

Sherry:

All pieces are from 2 different original 68 factory AC Camaros. I bought the package from a 68 Camaro owner when he dismantled his factory air system. I needed some pieces to replace missing and damaged pieces on my 68. Now my car is together in the areas these parts are used, I am able to let these pieces go. If you look at Section C60 of the 68 AIM, you will see the parts. Not all parts are shown in the AIM are in my stash, nor are they are they all free of any damage. But they can be used with a little repair. For unknown reasons, I do have duplicates of some of the pieces. More info will be available, when I get them cleaned, documented and posted in the Classifieds section.

As much as I hear about the Vintage Air system, I rather like keeping the GM Factory Air in my Camaro for its originality. It may be more complicated, but it is only original ONCE. I know there is not much on my Camaro original, but this system is.

That is sweet. I wish my parents would have sold me there's but, that's a different story. Must be nice. It's hard to find complete cars unless someone is selling one they restored. The killer was back in 68 the sticker price on his car was less than 6500 brand new. Kind of makes me sick. Lol

Sherry:

I sent you a private message with info on the parts and the readying for posting on the forum's Classified section down the road in the future. Let me know what you think. I don't want to clutter up his discussion any more with our discussion on our cars and parts. If he wants to see my list of parts, OP will let me know

Click on the photo. You will see someone prior to me had cut up the flange on one end. Pretty much only good for a temporary installation, until a good one can be found.

The ones I saw one ebay and Camaro Central were just as bad. Ricks Camaro had one supposedly. I used pn 3929063 to search for the duct.
