Well for 600 bucks you arn't going to get a set of good heads.

I would set my sites on a larger cam or some pistons.There are hidden costs with both the cam and piston changes.

But as it stands,
From what you have said about the cars application and gear change, I would go with the pistons.Even if you have to suffer for a while.We have all done it at one time or another.

you can get a good set of BARE heads for $600. Look at some 72cc iron eagles...swap your springs, valves etc...then sell your heads. ?

OK..I think i know what i am going to do...Just going to pull the motor and put differnt pistons in...."That was for KB pistons for $189"...Looking around the web for some wiseco pistons...I know i will be paying more but everybody i talked to said them would be the ones to run.....would like to have around 9-9.8cr...Any pistion Ideas??

Go with a -18cc D-dish piston. That will drop your CR down to 9.5:1.

Look at KB #102 or Speedpro #LW2605f30 if you want a forged piston.

I went with Wiseco Pro Tru forged with a -20cc "D" dish for $509. The CR will be between 9.2 - 9.5 depending on which head gasket I use. (62cc chamber 383)
