Hey Randy and Anne

That is the Beauty of the Internet and searching the Forums with words,
you enter “454 block” on T/C Engine Forum, which is what I have and you get “Posts” back to Aug. 08 and the Chevy Engines – Part Swapping.

I also went to my Engine Builder with my “Decoded Block” and told him I had a 454.

Then he measures the Pistons and tells me I have a 427. Bought the Engine like 10 years ago  Worked for me.
All good stuff, back in my Day, you looked for the “double Humped Heads” or it was a Big Block – size did not matter.

I am not in the business of Restoring/ Building these Hot Rods, will probably be the only one I do in my lifetime.
Sometimes, I’m searching for info, I do not care how old it is, most of the time, I want Pictures instead of the AIM.

Like a Good Joke, Old Posts never “Grow old”, you just see them again, sometimes, for the first time or a good reminder.

Welcome Timmy. And thanks for reminding us that the myth lives on. A 427 block and 454 are the same. Only the crank is different.
And nice engine!

Hey Fred
Finally got my Car on the Road. Brought it to work.

Thanks for the Pics of your Electrical Harness coming around the Ends of the Radiator Support - helped me a lot.

I got a new Computer, Old PC Hard Drive quit, and lost All of my Build Pictures, I plan on Posting a reminder to Back up Files.

I have been going thru Past posts with Pics and re-downloading them. Lost most though.

Thanks Timmy. glad to help.
The dreaded hard drive death may be fixed. Call a geek, such as from Best Buy. Maybe, you never know. Lost pictures keep these people in business.
