4-Speed tunnel cut out

I was wondering if anyone knows if this shifter tunnel plate for a 68' convertible is available as a reproduction.
The previous owner cut this out for some reason? The car has a 4 speed with a Hurst Competition Plus shifter with no console. It was not in the car when I got it so I'm not sure what the problem is but I'm thinking there must be some issue with it hitting the tunnel?

Common to see a tunnel hacked up from years of modifications and running non factory shifter configurations. Thankfully replacement/reproduction rings and patch panels are readily available.

Mine is "cut up", intentionally. I have a Competition Plus shifter, with an "adapter plate" that my machinist friend cut out of 1" aluminum. The plate is mounted on the tranny, and my shifter sits about 3" closer to my right knee that the factory config.
