I think I saw a thread somewhere else about someone looking into it and saying it would be really expensive and time consuming to have it done, that is why there are so few details.

I want to out a 5th back seat in and its supposed to be a pretty extensive job.

 

I am in the process of doing this to mine. Not super complicated and I don't think anymore expensive then if you bought an aftermarket style console. It would be easier if it was black LOL. Here is a picture of mine covered, hoping to install it pretty soon.

 

Nice job Chris, I am in the process of doing the same in my 69, mine interior is Red. Can't tell you how may times I thought about changing it to black to make it easier for the console install.

Lots of them done. Chris's is real nice albeit a bit harder because of the color.

Drew, go for it! I got lucky and found an interior guy that does pretty good work. I hope to have it in soon (along with the rest of the interior). Hope the LED lights worked great for you. Might be in the area around Xmas time, will have to meet up and have a beer!

 

That's a neat idea, does it fit nice on the tunnel with no mods?
