From what I have seen, all 67's have a rectangular one piece tail light. The 68's have the same shape but split in two. And the 69's are split into 3. Just wanted to verify this.

If so, good way to remember the first gen years,
67 1 piece lens 1st year,
68 2 piece lens2nd year,
69 3 piece lens 3rd year.

Thanks!

Also, '67 has wing vent windows and round wheel openings. '68 has no wing vent windows but still has round wheel openings. '69 has no wing vent window but squared wheel openings with body lines running down the side of the car........
easy ways to tell the difference when you meet that cool ride on the highway!

Any 68 Rally Sport I have owned (4 of them)has had the split tail light housing and all red lens's with back up lights installed on the lower rear valance. I have never seen one with 67 tail light housings?

Two pieces &/or one piece, should be refered to the lenses, which when are for RS cars, come in one red piece.

Actually, I am talking about the entire tail light assembly. The "trim" around the tail light is the key difference. All 68's I have seen has the trim splitting it in two smaller rectangles.

I looked at the "promo's" on this site and all the 68's have the tail light divided in two, including Rally Sports. Anyway, interesting piece of trivia.

Getting somewhat

All first gen R/S's have Solid Red tail light lens's in the housings and back up lights in the rear valance. Non R/S have back up lights in the housing, on the inboard side. It is a clear lens.

All 67's have a housing with no seperation, 67 R/S will have solid red lens and back up lights in the rear valance. Non RS will have back up lights on the inboard side of the housing with a clear lens.

All 68's have Divided tail light housings with R/S's having solid red lens's with back up lights in the rear valance. Non R/S have back up lights in the inboard side of the housing with a clear lens.

I will not post about a 69 as I have not seen one in a while and can not remember the details. I think they have a total of three lens's on each side?

From www.camaros.org CRG, "Other 1969 model discriminators:

Tail light bezels were changed to a triple-lens styling"
and 67 -68 differences "The tail lights and the non-Rally Sport grille were restyled".

I think this is a good way to distinguish the 3 years. I saw a 67 for sale that had a 2 piece housing. That immeadiatley threw up a flag. Thats kinda why I posted this topic. However, the place selling these has a reputation for putting cars together from pieces.

I try to identify them by the following:

Window vents, no side markers 67

Looks kinda like a 67 but with on window vents, and side markers, 68

Body creases, flared wheelwheels, 69
