I bought an original tilt column for my '68 and am having problems with the install. Can someone tell me what the overall length for a correct column should be? The one I have is 1 5/16" longer than my stock non-tilt, so my mounting bracket won't line up to the dash. Am I missing something, or did I get sold the wrong column?

Here is photo of my '68 tilt column. Dimension "A" is 29 5/8 inches. Dimension "B" is 31 5/8 inches. I hope this helps.

I don't know if this is the picture you are looking for. I had attached it to this post originally but it's not there anymore. Here it is again.

I had to clear some space from my pictures stored on this site in order to post two more on another thread today. I guess doing so eliminated the picture I posted on this thread today. I will try to put it up again.

Everytime i get in my 67rs i wish it had tilt steering.
Firewheel Classic (a site sponsor) has them sometimes at a better price than you’ll get one on ebay. If you give them a call, they will put you on their waiting list. I think they get them from someone that rebuilds tilt columns in Athens, TX. It's a great option to have along with power windows. :)
