I bought an original tilt column for my '68 and am having problems with the install. Can someone tell me what the overall length for a correct column should be? The one I have is 1 5/16" longer than my stock non-tilt, so my mounting bracket won't line up to the dash. Am I missing something, or did I get sold the wrong column?

I will check my tilt steering column length in my 1967 camaro. It sounds like you have the wrong column.

X2 on the wrong column.
I installed one on my 67 & 68. Both originally came with a standard column. Both of the tilt columns bolted right in. If you have the right column (from a 67/68 Camaro/ Firebird) it should be a fairly easy transition.

Firewheel Classic (a site sponsor) has them sometimes at a better price than you’ll get one on ebay. If you give them a call, they will put you on their waiting list. I think they get them from someone that rebuilds tilt columns in Athens, TX. It's a great option to have along with power windows.

BUMP what is the stock length for a 67 steering column with floor shifter? I need to replace mine. Thanks (the one I have is an aftermarket and I think it is too long and it is non tilt)
