Chris Branson took my 67 under his wing to fix a really screwed up paint job, some very bad prep work, bad body work and panel fit. It's taken some time but in the long run all I can say is it was well worth the wait. The new metal stinger hood looks awsome!!

After the cut and buff in few weeks it's going to look even better.

Thanks Chris....great job!!

JOE! You are a gentleman and a scholar! And the worlds best 67 Camaro owner too.
Not only does my wife like your color, get this,,, page 25, February issue of Hotrod, the new '12 Camaro convertible "will look great" in Inferno Orange she says. She read the description of the car and will go for it!
Wonder if she knew what ZL1 Supercharged 585 horsepower means?:D

At first I was thinking why but it looks better on the first gen than the new Camaro.Looks great keep us posted on the finish product..I have a orange 69 and tried to talk my wife into the orange and it was no way so she got this instead.

When my wife and I had our second date in 1980 she was driving a silver 70 Monty Carlo and told me she had a nightmare that her car morphed into Hugger Orange. But she likes it on my car. (if she didn't we wouldn't have married:D)
Anyway, I've been trying to morph her 06 red Solara convertible into a Orange '12 Camaro convertible. Maybe when she sees Joe's car.

JOE! SHE LOVE'S IT!!:hurray:

Next, to get her to the dealer for a thorough inspection and drive. Then to sneak a blown 427 into the order sheet when she's not looking. How would she know?:noway: But first, anyone have a picture of a first gen Hugger Orange next to a new Orange Camaro? They might clash.

Looks great Joe! Bet you can't wait to get it done and drive it? Will it be done before the move out west?
.

Hey Chris!! No it will not be done but Chris Branson will have the paint, body and other stuff lined out. It ships to Tucson on Jan 13 2012. I am going back over the holidays and will help Chris how ever I can and not get in his way :D

The guy is a just a flat out awsome painter and I can hardly wait to see this after the cut and buff. It's going to shine but we are not going wiht the total slick cut and buff, it's not going to be totaly slicked out so it's more easy to take care of and more of daily driver syle paint job.

So is the Camaro with you? You moved WAYYYYYY SOUTH!!!!

Coming along, glass and trim. Went black on the trim....I like it others may not. Keeping with a theme of beeing a little different and I can always have it polished if I want to go back to the polished stainless.

No stripe or stinger color will be done, it will be solid and stay as is. I have always loved the blacked out tail panel. Thought I would do somethin a little different and do the bezels and the gas cap will be just basic cap painted black also. I will have a chrome rear bumper though. Door handles ans mirrors will be chrome, moldings and window trim including wing windows are black. No front bumper and grill trim will black and turn signal housings are black. I need new grill moldings so checking out look. I will convert to RS front trim at some point.

Tail light bezels have been filled (not bondo) with panel bond and smoothed out. The pebble finish in the black is smoothed.Notice on the orginals where the chromme meets the black there is lip and there is small lip at the bottom where the originals meet the lens. I used my GM orginals and all the pits wer ground out and filled and smoothed out.

A small custom touch...that will not really be noticed but I thought was cool!! and they are orginal GM so they fit!!

These were filled and smoothed out and then painted black to blen in with the tail panel. It will get RS lens with light tint on the lens.

Metal stinger hood? Where did you find that in this world of fiberglass? Your right, the car is worth the wait....Dave
I bought it local in Little Rock but take look at this thread.
http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=199591
Belair Bobs can get you one. He had an excellent price but the deal I got local was even better. One of those in the right place at the right time things. I would check with Bob his price was more than fair for everyday deals.

Looks awesome! Great choice of color. What brand/type of paint did you use and how hard was it the keep the color even?
He used PPG...as for what sub brand of that I don't know. I do know that the paint was inexpensive but the pearl/toner that it used was like $300.00 plus the paint cost. Painter said it close to the House of Colors tangelo but more red orange and it does not loose the luster under artficial light. He is really happy with the GM color mix and it covered well and very even being it's a pearl/toner.

I will get to see it for the first time at the end of Dec. I am in Tucson AZ, we are relocating and the car is in Little Rock AR. Need to find a home to keep it at in Tucson......was looking at houses today.
