Due to 4 wheel disk breaks, must use 18" (plus) rims, fine w/me - I love Pro Touring stance. Anyone have recommendations on tire size? 1967 RS, 2" drop (front & back). stock front suspension, multileaf rear (stock rear frame, no minitub). Thanks!

Here's what we did on a the 68 we just built.

18x8 4.875 BS 245/40R18 - Front
18x9 5.5 BS 275/40R18 - Rear

Rears should have been 5.25 on this car. Inside was a little snug but a 1/4" spacer took care of it.

Pics are in my build below.

I hope thats not true in every case about 18" rims and disc brakes. I have 17" wheels on the way and front disc brakes. But figure since i am running 15" wheels now then it will be fine. I did get 18" for the back and carefully figured out backspacing.

Mark, 10" wide wheel, I assume you did a mini tub. I ended up getting 18x9 in the back and 17x7 in front. Lowered all around, hoping for no rubbing.

Disc clearance is relative to the size of the brakes. If you already have 15" wheels and they clear 17" will be fine.

The stock SS cars in 69 had 14" wheels with discs.

Ken, from the pics I believe that Mark did not mini tub, as he`s running a 275-35 on the rear, 10``wide rim is pushing it but as long as you dont REALLY lower the rear end down you would be fine. You`ll notice that most of his rear wheel is exposed ...

You're right Steve. I'm running 10" wide wheels and no mini tub. If you get the back spacing right and lower the rear just enough, you can get away with it without having any rubbing. I also went with QA-1 adjustable shocks on all four corners which helps. I get many questions at car shows about how I got the 10" wide wheels to work and comments from a lot of people that they think the stance is perfect.
