Hey guys,

I have a small block, 350 69 camaro coupe. I didn't notice until I took the front clip off the car, but my fan shroud is just loose at the bottom. The shroud does have some tabs on it that extend horizontally about an inch. But I don't see anything to mount the tabs to. There are no screw holes. Should the shroud just be loose down there like that? I've never seen it flopping or vibrating, but it just seems strange for the shroud to be fastened only at the top. Am I dealing with an incorrect shroud? By the way, it doesn't quite cover the fan. I'd appreciate any info and/or suggestions. Thanks.

I am having the same problem, my radiator has no tabs for the shroud to slide into. I have seen the clips in the above post and my question is, I understand that the clip attaches to the shroud but how does the clip then attach to the radiator and secure it in place? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Dshook, That's a good question. I recently got an assembly manual. I'll see if I can make it out in the diagram. Of course, I'll need to order the clips before that info does me any good. Dan, am I understanding you correctly, that part of the fan blades should not be covered by the shroud? It that's true, then I guess mine is the way it's supposed to be. Seems rather dangerous though. Someone who didn't know or forgot could easily get nicked by the fan as they reach across toward the engine.

Paul, thats why they made the "CAUTION FAN" sticker...just kiddin. Those clips aren't the only ones. On your SBC shroud down towrads the bottom on each side there are slots molded into the plastic, those slide down inside of clips that are attached to the bottom of the radiator. Look inside your assembly manual on UPC 11/13 sheet B4 and you'll see what i mean. Classic industries sells one of those clips, but not the other side. And they sell the clips pictured above.

Thanks again, Dan. Your engine compartment is awesome. Mine's slightly dirtier...cough, cough. That wouldn't be dusk blue paint, would it? If so, that's the same color I'm going with. And thanks, John, that was some really specific info/help. I've been too busy/lazy to consult the assembly manual, but now I know just where to look. I ordered some trunk drop-down's today but stupidly forgot to ask about/order the shroud clips. Oh well, it's not like I want be ordering something else, and then something else, and then something else, and then...
