Hello All,

Looking to find out what I have, I know it's a 69 Camaro but can someone help decipher below please.

Line 1: 124379N640099 (VIN #)
Line 2: PC0306G
Line 3: Y9D11
Line 4 I0411HD\
Image

Line 5 113
It has a B5 in upper right corner
Line 5: Wallace Molitor
Line 6: 16- 69

Its a Protecto-plate (POP), really rare to have on a 1st gen!

Line 1: 124379N640099 (VIN #) V8 coupe
Line 2: PC0306G (this is your rear, PC = 2.56 gear assembled March 6th of 69) 5 is the build month of May
Line 3: Y9D11 (transmission, Toledo TH350 1969 April 11 build date)
Line 4 T0411HD (this is your original engine code stamp on front of engine, Tonawanda build, assembled April 11 of 69) HD engine code is for a 350 250hp (2bbl) with TH350 trans.

Line 5 113 (options are column dependent: 1 is N40 power steering, 1 J50 power brakes, 3 is a radio)
It has a B5 in upper right corner (B = Bay city 2bbl carb)
Line 5: Wallace Molitor (original buyers name and address)
Line 6: 16- 69 (5 16 69 is probably the selling date)

Kevin,
The reason I didn't decode this was for the OP to do it and post back. It's the "Give a man a fish" theory.

Thank you Matt,

The car was willed to me by my father, not sure if I will keep or not, the engine has 51K actual miles on it, and my brother I started it a few days ago, it's been 20 years since it was started. Here are some pics, need to get it cleaned up but in Minnesota so will wait until all the salt and snow is off the roads. It says RS but when I did a search by Vin# it showed Z28, could it be a Z28-RS package? not 100% sure what I have and what it might be worth, do you have a range of what it might sell for?

Car looks like it has a lot of potential. Great to hear you got it running. Make sure to check brakes and change tires before going out in the road. Fluids, belts, hoses and a tuneup would probably be helpful as well.

A couple comments based on your pictures.
First, auto tyranny rules out being a Z28. The RS badges do not match the tail lights - should have separate reverse lights. I like the color and old Cragar wheels.

Does the car have hide away headlights?

Thanks for the advice, my Brother and I have a lot of work but looking forward to it.

It does have the hide away headlights, was that a standard feature on the RS models, I just wonder if it had been in a accident with the 1st owner as I know the rear end with tails lights wasn't something that was orderable for awhile so maybe the went with the rear end that is on there now.

I understand and agree with :D POP decodes are pretty tricky. I was curious and hunting my docs for a while to get it decoded, so since I did the work...

G, so with an 350 engine and auto is is not a Z28 :) Some online sites think any V8 Camaro is a Z. Next RS, It could be. The trim tag has to have an X11 on it with means "style trim", stainless molding around wheels, drip rail and other stuff. But you could also get style trim on "base" cars. I see yours has the wheel lip molding, but not the drip rail (though tough to see in your pic). If your car was a real RS, then it would have special taillights and reverse lights under the rear bumper. Yours does not. So somebody changed something after car was built.

You need to get educated as Fairfax said and find the RS clues to determine if they are there and factory correct. Start here: http://www.camaros.org/index.shtml and go to http://www.camaros.org/options.shtml#id and scroll down to Rally Sport (Z22) to see the info. Then click on ALL the other links to get a real education on 1st gen Camaros! :D
