Here's a decent looking 1967 Blue Convertible in my area. It's going for $14,500 obo. These things were at $25k two years ago even with some bondo in them. Look for prices to drop further after Halloween and/or Thanksgiving, especially in the colder climates. aka the rust belt as our Southern friends call us.

There's a decent 1969 hard top on Craigs list I saw a week ago around me for like $10,500. Car was priced at $15G earlier this spring. If I see it again I'll try to post the link. The up front costs of $2,500 are cheap but money is money. You can spend $2G today or $20, $40 or $60G tomorrow. Now is a good time to buy the semi-decent cars that don't need alot of work. A basket case may be $2G but if you are going to pay someone to do the work, they are not going to drop their hourly labor prices. And Jegs, Summit, Rick's, D&R Classic, Year One aren't going to drop their prices either.
My 2 cents---Let the prior owner take the hit on the repair/restoration cost. Sad to say but someones Camaro misery is someones good fortune. Trust me when I say this I've taken the shaft on cars 1 & 2 big time in my signature below. Car #3 was a mini shaft due to my not thinking clearly and I refuse to get shafted on car #4....I still say even $8,500 today could get you a running, driver car that you can work on & restore. Those are at least fun!
*******Here's a nice looking 1969 in Chicago land for $18G--Change out the interior to black and you have a great looking car that was easily pulling $30 - $35G or even $40G in mid 2006 when prices peaked.

******Here's another decent looking 1969 Camaro project car. I think this guy may have been asking $8G at one time and word is he possibly may be down to $6,500....

***P.S. Check out
www.racingjunk.com as well and
www.auto-rv.com some good deals can be found on there. I bought my car off of auto rv.com after a buddy told me about the website.
Good Luck!!
