i have wiring diagrams from chiltons and autozone but nether show these gauges or their sending units. both stopped at the same time. i tried a search in archives and found nothing on 4th generation. one thread for 3rd gen stated a pink wire feeds both gauges and the back up lights and my back ups dont work either but not sure when they quit. can anyone point me in the right direction? checked fuses and swapped relays but w/out knowing where power comes from i am lost. thanks

Might find a shop having Mitchell Repair CD and offer to buy an electrical schematic of the model. Pink is generally power for accessories.

finnaly got around to digging under dash looking for connectors and pink wires. without turning on ignition i then went under hood to temp sensor and grounded it. turned on ignition and it pegged out and my fuel gage moved for trhe first time in weeks. i must have wiggled something under dash and problem will most likely arise again but at least i will have an idea where to start. thanks for your help:hurray:
