i know personally the new door shells from goodmark dont fit a 67 at all.

 

all the taiwan made doors are the same. goodmark/classics/dynacorn same box but different names on boxes.

 

So one company stamps them and places them in the prelabeled boxes for all the sub company's?? goodmark,dynacorn,classic,ricks etc.???

 

I would do a little research. I got both my doors from cars incorporated. One fit excellent, the second one came in a goodmark box and fits poorly compared to the not goodmark door. the issue I do not like is the gap on the bottom. one is quite large, but it could be the rear quarter, I repaced them also. basically all reproduction parts are time consuming to fit properly but with no time spared they can fit very well. I think lots of the parts have to do with timing and luck. I can picture them being pressed out and quality checked. Sometimes you get the good enough product and sometimes the best. good luck.

 

I believe Golden Legion is the mfr. In looking at 69 vert quarters, everyone (Cars Inc, Goodmark, NPD, etc) sells OER (Classic ) which is made by Golden Legion.

 

All new door shells suck equally! We never use them.

 

Dont use the doors for a 67. You nned to major fabricating, grinding to get the wing windows in. I have been through it. The one door needs metal added to fix the fender/door gap. The other was ok. Its not a walk in the park but they work..

 

I'm wondering what you get then when you order a dynacorn replacement body? Do they go and make all the doors and trunk lid fit or are you left to work all the gaps and die marks out. Anyone use one of these? I don't need one my 69 vert has a solid body.

 

You get to do it. Did you see Musclecar where they built the 69 crate camaro?

 

purchased some 68 skins, goodmark from summit racing, and they fit really well...I was pleasantly surprised.

I just replace metal, and use pieces from other panels that are bad in other places. With the time involved with fitting overseas panels, and panels out of bad molds (new U.S.), you're better off cutting and welding.

 

Just go and find some solid doors that need the skins replaced. I just ordered a new set of Goodmark door skins and they came with the upper support bracket and fit really nicely. Lined up well to my GM fenders.

 

Best advice right there. I used a few shells on customers cars and they are a project to make them fit right. I was able to buy a rust free but dented to hell 68 door for $40 (placed an add in the classifieds here) and you can ship a door shell UPS if its boxed right. Add a repro skin and it should fit like a glove.
Problem with the repro shells is there is no car to fit the skin to. If the skin is off a 1/4 inch either way on the shell your screwed.When you put the skin on yourself you can hang the shell on the car,lay your skin on and position it perfectly.Mark it,take it all off,install the skin and it should fit your car perfectly.

 

I used Golden Legion for both door shells and other than needing to add a small weld to one of the inside panel joints, the doors fit fine. Only concern was that the passenger side did not have the holes pre-drilled for a mirror -- but that's not a big deal.

Passenger mirror was a dealer option wasn't it? I know my car came with the drivers remote mirror only so I was glad there were no holes on the passenger side.

 

My buddy used the Goodmark stuff on his 69 and the door shells fit OK. The drivers fender needed a bracket cut off and shortened and rewelded to make it fit but after that everything lined up OK. For perfect showcar gaps more work would be needed but so would a GM fender or doorshell. I have Golden Legion quarters, doorshells and fenders I am putting on my 69 and they look good so far. Plenty of work ahead to fit them.
