The Historic Blizzard of 2015 is just starting in the NE. I thought this would be a good time to start the storm thread and get everyone's stories!

The weekend snow started on Saturday for me, was up at 6:30 am plowing the driveway of the 4" I received Friday evening, then traveled up to NYC to get there at 10:30am. It was the best trip to NYC I have ever had. No traffic, just a little rainy and slushy. Drove the Turnpike to Lincoln tunnel and parked at Port Authority without any stopping in traffic, plenty of parking places, then on the subway to Upper West side, easy!

Monday, Snow flurries started around 6am this morning, not much accumulation yet. Forecast is 25 inches in my area (Central NJ). Fun!

We have a whole inch down here in Maryland. All the schools are closed and nobody can drive.

So pretty much just another Monday.

Timmy,

I lived in Trumbull for 17 years and know how bad it can be there in the winter. Hang in there. Spring is just a few short months away. :)

I checked with my wife in Fredneck: It just went from rain and 38 degrees to snow and 28 degrees in 20 minutes. I'm thinking it's about time to head home before it gets too icy...

Have a safe drive George. And have fun digging out when it is over.
Just finishing up some stuff. Burning a bit more time... Shouldn't be a problem. New tires and mostly empty highway. 1 hr drive.

Fun times.

I think that last pic was after the first storm. We got hit with another 2 feet that night and the other pics were after that second wallop. My back hurts just looking at it.

That first pic of the garage was after the first storm as well. The second added another 2 feet back there too. Then the plow came down and shoved a path 4' deep and 12 feet wide worth of snow onto my garage. When I opened the door there was only about 2' of sunlight showing through. I nearly cried at that moment. My back was already killing me from the first storm. Luckily it was about that moment that my neighbor fired up his snow blower and saved the day.

Jim,

I'm originally from a Norwalk. Spent my first 27 years there before moving to Trumbull. I'll ask my relatives to clean up your ancestors grave markers.....if they could dig themselves out. :)

Re: Winter storm Juno, Northeast snow totals check-in

Hi I'm 2 hrs north of NYC in the Hudson Valley. Right now we only have about a half inch of snow but they're forecasting maybe 18 to 24 inches. When did they start naming winter storms . I don't know long time before this melts, Z sound asleep waiting for spring. Can't wait to see black top road again

Re: Winter storm Juno, Northeast snow totals check-in

Just an inch right now, but it looks like I fall in the 24-30" range now, although I'm on the very edge, so 24" is still more likely.

I think the drifts will be impressive with 60mph winds. I bet we have 5'+ drifts before it's over.

Re: Winter storm Juno, Northeast snow totals check-in

The central NJ forecasts are losing steam, looks like the storm will be more east then they thought. Well, that will make my driveway plow much easier. We will see what the morning brings.

Mandatory driving ban in effect after midnight tonight. $500 fine if you're caught driving. Looks like I won't be taking the Camaro out tomorrow for any joy rides.:noway:
