I think the main difference between L30 and L79 is the camshaft, intake manifold and carb, so it's a fairly easy conversion, but you're right, there never was a factory equipped L79 Camaro.

Can you post a link to the ebay auction ?

Go to ebay motors and search "1967 stunning restored camaro"
Should be the first one that pops up. Blue with black top.
Looks just the same as it did when I owned it except for the rear spoiler.

And compression ratio, 11:1.

Well, the seller is a dealer. Generally, they know a little about all cars. He just missed the HP rating by 75 is all.

Actually, with added goodies (cam, carb, intake, headers), 350hp is probably a good guess.

Here's a link....

My point is and I guess it's no big deal, is it's advertised as an original 327/350 which it isn't and couldn't be.
Read back in this thread how he was concerned 7 months ago that it was actually an original L30.
The car looks exactly as it did when sold, even the engine and bay, except for the rear spoiler.
It ran and shifted perfectly, it has 41k original miles.
I didn't restore it and it looks exactly the same as I sold it.
Looks like the engine was pulled to replace rear main seal that was leaking.
Some small dings fixed on the body and resprayed.
Done with my rant, I wish him and the buyer good luck.

If it was me, and I got the price I wanted when I sold it, I probably would not be too upset. If he knocked me down on price and now he is selling it for SIGNIFICANTLY more, I would be ticked.

I lit him up on the 327/350 hp - so we will see if he responds.

Thanks Tom, interesting....I was wondering about possibly having 2.02's. L79 sounds more like an early Z engine, without the 283 crank and solid lifters. What do ya know about the L76 ?:) Think it had solid lifters...

Hope ya don't mind me askin', but where are you getting your info from ? Like I say, these old vintage engines are interesting to me. If there's a book or some other accurate source of engine specs available, I'd be interested....

Sorry no book to suggest, just from memory studing 60's vette engines as a kid. 365 and 375 hp 327s had solid cams 30/30, 2.02s 11:1 and aluminum intakes or f.i.(375hp)
Not sure what L code that is as i write this from 35000 ft above NC.
