If you remove the back seat you will see where the top frame attaches . Look for the bolts holding the frame on and the slotted hole. You can make the adjustment you need by loosening the bolt and sliding the assembly. There are also stop bolts in the top bows where they hinge.

 

Japper, do a search in the interiors section for my name. I did a convertable swap a while back and posted some hints on how to do it.

 

I forget what it's called as I'm at work now but I think the Body Service manual? has a few pages on troubleshooting and adjustment. I know because I own the book and used it to convert to power top. I can dig it out and fax you the pages or whatever, if you'd like. Tom
