Had the same problem. Turned out to be a bad horn relay. I have actually seen this a few times since I work at Schucks part time.

I had the same thing happen to me. I found out yesterday I actually had a crack in the side of my battery. Over time the charge would hold less & less until it would not hold a charge at all.

You seem to have a short somewhere. Best to measure the extent of it to get an idea of what may be causing it. I had a similar experince a few years ago and found that my ignition switch was defective because it keep the field coils in my alternator active even with the key out of the ignition.

 

anybody know what else would cause my battery to keep dying out?

 

the battery is still good, alternator and voltage regulator is fine. i had the doors off and the dome light stayed on, but i took out that fuse, but something keeps draining the battery and i can't seem to find out what it is.

 

Is the battery still good? Alternator charging? Current flow while key is 'off'? Voltage regulator condition?
