I've got a question. I have a 68 camaro with a 12 bolt posi rear end.I put 3.55 gears in it and the problem is when i get above 40 mph i get a loud whine from the rear of the car. It kind of sounds like a raised truck with 35 inch tires is behind you ( kind of give you an idea of the sound). IS this my gear,could it be that its not aligned or shimmed properly? Any ideas guy's? Thanks in advance.
Gears in rearend are whining i think?

Yes you are right, if sound was not evident before and even if it was, the pinion sounds like it is meshed to deep in

to the ring gear, Was the gear set you installed a new one, if so what type, let me know and I'll fax you the correct set up procedure if I can

if u drive long enough with IMproperly lined gears, they will be ruined for good!
so u better dont drive until u fixed it.
