The Camaro used for the first 11 seasons of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives is being put up for sale. It is a '67 red Camaro convertible in great working condition.

Can any of you help with an estimation of what this might be worth?

let me know if there are follow up questions to help attain an estimate.

TIA.

Need to know Engine size and mileage. What Trans, Rear diff. any options, are all parts original to the car?

More pics will help, Interior, Engine, Chassis, Trim tag etc..

Sure are two different cars....one is an RS and the other two are not. It's not from Triple D....it's from Transformers l:)

Ohh and I love Triple D....and the Transformer flix were pretty cool also.

I think the first pic is wrong, my apologies. But this is not an ad for an ebay auction. We're trying to get an understanding of what this car might be worth, and yes there could be additional interest due to the celebrity connection.

I will follow up with Engine size, mileage, etc.

Bobby, you will want to play up the celebrity connection for top dollar and you'd probably be best off offering it through a known auto auctioneer such as Mecum, Kruse, Barret-Jackson. Assuming the car is a good running driver, probably an SS "clone" without original engine, without the celeb connection I'd expect it to be $20-25k in this economy.
Just my thoughts.

20-25K if Guy throws in a Cookout at his garage :D

Just my thoughs ...

1st off, I doubt you could get "Guy" to have or do anything with getting this car sold :noway
There is no 'connection' of any celebrity really to this car - it is still owned by David Page, the originator of a-n-d "Ex"-Producer of the show - and he will not be getting any co-operation from 'Guy' or the Food Channel in selling that car ...
Rumor is 'Guy' didn't like the owner/producer having majority control over 'his' show and the final editing of the episodes and lobbied FC executives to get him removed as producer - guess 'Guy' got his wish ;)
There is a pending settlement of the legal issues between producer and the FC folks - so it may dictate what/how/if he can use 'their' name in advertizing this vehicle for sale in print :p

Soooo - here you have a vehicle that 'was' used in a TV series for a given time, is owned by and registered to a 'non'-celebrity that is going to get sold.
Will it bring more than a 'normal' Non-SS Clone? Probably ...
Will it bring "Celebrity" prices? I doubt it ...
It is still not listed anywhere I can find, only offered in private closed 'bidding' so far ... maybe something to do with 'lawyers' ???

And it is a 'Clone' :secret:
And only 1 of those 3 pictures show above is the actual car ...
The one with 'Guy' sitting on it ;)
Original engine was a 327 - based from an early interview with Producer quote "It was originally a 327 car, now a 350 4-speed" ...
Engine was replaced with the present crate 350 by the PO before they bought it for the show ...
There have been several updates and some re-freshing of it since it was purchased.
Guy has said some pretty uhmmmm ... less than nice things about it's condition (like; "if this Camaro were his, it would be in much better shape") in several print 'car' mags over the years ...

BTW - The 'New' Camaro you will be seeing in the upcoming season's shows is a 1968 - they finally got the right year :hurray:

I don't watch too much TV but I do have cable and never heard of this guy/show. Sounds like a neat show. Maybe I'm not a good gauge but not sure how much "famous-factor" really applies here. Would recommend just valuing the car for what it's worth. Although 11 seasons says someting so must be a good/popular show.

I recall a Cadillac selling at auction several yeas back ('76 model I believe) that was in excellent shape only going for like $10 - $12k and it was owned by Johnny Cash. I thought that was a steal consdiering the previous owner's status so wouldn't put too much weight in this fella's celebrity status carrying over into the Camaro's value.

Ya know some of you are throwing out what sound like very low ball numbers. There was a '69 SS clone that looks very much like my car (black houndstooth interior) going for $45k at a recent GG show here. As well I see most decent 1st gen convertibles starting around $30k. By decent I mean a car you don't have to run out and paint it or put anything into it to enjoy if you don't want to! $25k seems about right for a coupe to me, I bet at auction the car sells for around $50k maybe more being it's been on TV for so long.

Yeah, you may be right Dennis, but at this point we don't have much to go on but a couple photos and "great working condition".

The rest of the specs should be coming tomorrow, along with pics I will post. The guy who's taking care of the car right now, says it is an original SS. The new engine is a 350C 327HP (with 5,100 miles on the new engine) - 4 on the floor, rear wheel drive. The car itself has 61,682 miles on it, and they do have the original 327 engine crated up.

When it pulls away on the show sometimes it sounds ok but most of the time it sounds like it has an exhaust leak. I just noticed the rear seat coming apart in the center. It looks fairly strait but I can see in the pictures why people say it could be nicer.

Now I think it's not a bad ride but given the show and the fact that it has some show/star connection you would think it would be in better shape. If Guy owned it I think it might have been in better condition. I think some of these TV/movie cars bring way more than they are really worth but it's not my money.

It was my understanding that numerous different cars were used in the taping of these shows,.....There was a member on here who's car was used when they were in his neck of the woods....I have noticed subtle differences when watching the show.....so maybe this car was just one of the many that had been used in the taping???
