Guys , has anyone had trouble fitting lower control arms (speedtech) up into position? Im finding that they are way too tight to even get close to fitting up and into position in my 69. . Do you trim the bushing or ?????

Chances are the area the lca goes into is squeezed closed a bit from tightening the bolts on the last install. I used some all thread and large washers to open the gap up a little and mine went right in.

This is what I would suggest. You want to put the nuts and washers on the insides of the opening (where the control arm bushing goes up and in), and use them to spread the mount opening a little. The ears of the opening get squeezed toward each other over time, from tightening the LCA bolts, from banging into undercar obstructions (my 68 had been curbed pretty good at some point in its life), whatever. The steel is strong enough to hold the LCA in place, but is fairly easy to bend/unbend.

thanx guys , i managed to get one side done last night. I end up using two floor jacks , one under each bushing eye and slowly squeezed it up and in.

Now for the other side.

P.s , ive also notice the swaybar looks like hitting???

I had to use a dead blow hammer to tap my stockers around/up/in after putting in new poly bushings. Use a scraper or putty knife to clean all the crud off the inside of the crossmember and put some good bushing lube in there.
