I HAVE A 1996 Z28 T-TOP WITH THE lt1 IN IT. I WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT I COULD DO TO IT ON A BUDGET TO GET THE MOST HORSEPOWER OU OF IT. WHAT BOLT-ONS ARE GOOD AND OTHER MODIFICATIONS WOULD GIVE ME THE MOST BANG FOR MY BUCK.

Best bolt on's????

~Prolly one of the best "BFB" (bang for buck) would be long tube headders.

~Cold Air Intake. This goes along with the "one of the best" BFB listed above.

~Mass Air Flow Sensor Ends

~Air Foil

~Throttle Body

~Y-Pipes.

~160 Degree Thermostat

~Underdrive Pullies

~some sort of custom tune or Hypertech programmer to re-program the computer for better everything. Contact Jamy @ LSracingchips.com and he will help you out. Thats who did my program for my 94 LT1 and he did a great job.

Try the free mods that gain minimal HP, but then again, free HP is better than none at all.

~One would be to relocate the IAT (intake air temp)

~Another would be to do the throttle body coolant bypass mod.

~De-screening the MAF sensor.

~Intake silencer delete

~Gutting the catalytic converter

~Eliminate the skip shift.

~Weight Loss - FREE!!! every 100 pounds less equals 1 tenth off of your ET.

Hope this helps man. Do a search over at some of the LT1 forums located all over the net and you will find lots of mods you can do to the LT1 mill. I have done most of the free mods and most of the $$$$ mods listed. They all seem to do fine, but I never drove it before the mods so I don't have a clue as to how much it helped.

For an f-body...? Maybe it's just me, but I believe the only thing nos is for is to let Ricers stand a ghost of a chance against domestic cars. If you've got it, that's cool, but don't rely on it like everyone else does...
