I measured the journals on my crank. Its a 350 (2690) forged crank, and I got the following numbers..

My Mains measured 2.426 and my Rod Journals measured 2.080 to 85 (I have a cheap plastic gauge)

Is this crank 10 under? Im trying to figure out what size bearings I need.. My old bearings dont have the size visable.

This is all I see on the rod bearing

66-39 R

Standard rod is 2.100-2.080=.020 standard main is 2.450-2.426=.024.You are probably .020 under on the mains and rods. Most machine shops stamp the sizes on the first counter weight on the crank when they grind one undersize.

Thats what I couldnt find, the stock size.. Thanks

Its not scored or anything, I was just going to clean it up with some 2000 grit sandpaper and throw some new bearings in it. Think that would be ok? im on a tight budget...

Mike,
Pleeeeeeeeese dont do that. Either pay your machine shop $50 to polish the crank or leave it the way it is. I have seen more crankshafts ruined by well meaning guys that really dont know how important this part of the engine really is. Save you money on something else, but have the crankshaft measured and polished by someone who knows what they are doing and has the equipment to do it properly.
