well i finished breaking in the new fab9, and engine as well, and i gave it a good nice 100% throttle pass with MT DR's, felt great pulled hard, so i was closse to home and i parked it and noticce i brought in a trail/drizzle of ATF, and it dripped for a little bit longer and doesnt drip until i go driving again, i first thought it was coming from the front of the pan but i changed a to a couple different gaskets and a new aluminum pan and thats not the problem its coming from the front in the bellhousing, its seems like its splashes out too, because it it gets all over my starter, so after doing some research is this a front pump seal problem? or maybe a torque converter seal? ill be dropping the tranny soon, i just want to kno what to look for...:beers:

p.s. its a manual valve body car so i kno if that helps

well i dropped the tranny had it taken to a shop to b inspected and all the external seals (front pump, o ring ,rear, etc.) said that nothing really jumped out at him that would be causing a leak, i also showed him the converter real quick he just wanted to see if the snout damaged, but it was fine, he did really check out anything more on the converter, so i left it at that, the dipstick tube is fine and is not leaking, the cooler lines are fine, the TC is set fine, the shop guy said told me something about pressure testing the TC by sealing it and adding air to see if the tc is cracked, so i did that and it was fine...

i spent the whole week taking it out, taking it to the shop, waiting, reinstalling it and same s**t happens, im pissed, so i its leaking like a faucet, the leak has to b originating in the bellhousing, because the starter is getting drenched and its for sure in front of the trans...

so what do u guys think now? is it sumthing inside the TC? it drives just fine, i dont feel a difference since the day it happen (for the guys that dont know, the leak started after my first WOT pass i the car), i think the next move is drop the tranny AGAIN, then have the TC looked at completelyi dont know wat it could be im out of ideas, help me out guys...

if you took it out and had all seals replace and leaks again. replace torque converter. most likely leaking aroung where hub is welded or where the side of it gets welded. also on back of converter is there a silver dollar looking piece of metal there. they like to break off. is there a pilot bushing inside of crank since motor may of come from a manual tranny.

Thrust washers control the end play in the transmission form front to back. The pump bolts have a rubber coated washer under the head to seal them to the front of the pump. The torque converter can be pressurized through the hub when it's out of the car to check for leaks fairly easily. Might be able to use a Fernco quick cap with a tire valve in it to pressure it up.http://www.fernco.com/plumbing/residential-plumbing/qwik-caps or the local AAmco that washes they're own converters may have the toole to check real quick.

yea i tested that exactly, i put that rubbercap that the TC comes wit, and zip tied the bottom of it good made a lil hole on top and shot air into it, and there was a lil fluid in it, but it didnt come out of anywhere, it just kept eventually building up so much pressure that it blew the rubber cap off, i dont know if that is a good enough test to determine that the TC is fine
