When I removed my old 10 bolt rear it was mounted with just 8 grade 8 bolts and nuts. I bought new springs, multi leaf, and a mounting kit. The new mounting kit has 4 U-bolts in it.
Which is the proper way to mount this rear to the shock plates? With the U-bolts or the standard bolts?

U-bolts, for sure. The original low performance cars used T-bolts on all four locations on each side, but the high performance cars had a U-bolt on the outer side and T-bolts on the inner side. If you don't need an OE look, U-bolts both inner and outer are the way to go.

Don't forget to move the brake lines out of the way. Don't want to crush them.

I believe the outer ends take u bolts and the inner uses the T bolts, at least thats what my not so low performance Z has.

Eric K. has it right, go with the big ol' U-bolts, inside and out, unless your going for style points.............KZ
