I also have a column shift with a powerglide. I'd say they are rare, but probably because nobody wanted them! Most people paid a little extra for the floor shift and console.

I doubt that having a column shift makes a car more valuable. Six-cylinder cars are rare,too, but they aren't worth as much as a car with a desirable 8-cylinder engine.

 

I had a 68 SS396 with a colum shift/400 turbo and a bench seat(fold down arm rest).

what about a "three on the tree". my 67 was a three speed stick on the column ,now it's a 4speed floor shift,is that column worth any thing ,I'd like to change ir to a floor shift column to get rid of the shifter arm connection?

I think convertible is right, they are rare because no one wants them. The console was only a few bucks more, and many that had the column shift originally converted to floor shift.

I like my column shift -- had to have it since I have the bench seat

 

I have a TH350 column shift. I like it. I like the look of the console and horse shoe shifter but don't miss it... And wouldn't change it!

I put a column shift on ebay with no reserve and didnt get a hit.

 

A couple years ago at a swap meet I picked up a 69 dash cluster that had the center clock. Instead of having the 1 inch by 3 inch ribbed section at the bottom of the lens, it was clear and had the shift pattern for the column shift. I thought that was rare. Cluster with center clock but also column shift too with all the wiring still attached. Its the only 69 setup like that I have seen

 

I have a 68 327 plain jane with 2spd Powerglide on the column. I think everyone is right. There rare becuse no one wanted em...I mean how cool can you look starting a race by shifting through the column....my .2

 

I bought a 67 6cyl column shift Camaro for $140. Back in '77

 

Cars were cheap , bought a 67 firebird 4sp for $650 and a 400hp SBC for $100 in a shed , boiled out block327, fuelie head Lt1 cam mickey Thompson 12:1 pistons omg

 

Number 25 ZL1 was a column shift with T400 best that I remember.

 

My '67 2 barrel 327 was a column shift Powerglide with no console and bucket seats and deluxe interior. Kinda an oddball for whatever reason --and was a GM car for however long they kept them as a first owner. Really wierd.

 

Mine was orig 2 spd PG column shift. Now 5spd Richmond/Doug Nash, no console by choice.

I think there were an awful lot of PG cars and probably way more column shift than built than people would think. Still have most of the column shift parts.

3 on the tree…..definitely the rarest. I’ve seen 1 in 40 years and is not only a column shift, but the original anti theft device.
