Hi Guy's I am assuming we are all car nuts here and we must all have some place to keep them and work on them. I'm in the middle of building a new garage and I know some of you must have some really great and inventive ideas, Anyone care to share pics and ideas?
Thanks,
Jim

Sebert, great looking shop and cars

Can you please resize your photos to about 880x660 which is site policy. This will make it easier to see them fully without scrolling side to side and it brings the typed print into full view as well. It also helps the folks with dial up computers who struggle with very large photos. :) thanks for understanding.

These were taken at different stages since last year, last November it was an unfinished ,uninsulated , unheated icebox during the winter months and a sweatbox in the summer.
Last winter I threw a ceiling in to have some storage space and a place to put a furnace/ac unit in , added plenty of lighting ,insulated it and finished the walls.
This spring painted, epoxy coated the floor and did all the decorating,
All that's left is to put a compressor in the back left corner, get the satellite hooked up and build my permanent workbench... I had to leave something for this winters project.;)

You'd be surprised how many nice barns and garages people have that are full of musclecars. Not high profile people either. They're quiet and humble, don't get involved in typical gearhead activities and rarely go to shows and cruise nights. They just drive.

There are also owners of exotics with large gargages underneath their homes. One would never know they were there. That's the way they want it.

I have seen some impressive caves here, but one thing made me stop and stare.123,you have the coolest Camaro ever!Dont change it.If you ever decide you want something different dont redo that car just sell it to me and star over. That car is soooo cool.I would walk past a mile of trailer queens just to stop and admire a car that look like it actually sees some street action.Very cool.

Here's a link to a few pics of my "almost" finished garage. Please excuse the mess. I'm still trying to clean/organize it so I can get back to work on my 67 'Bird. Which is why I built the garage in the first place. It's 30x40x12 with 560 sq/ft of good usable attic space.

I needed a second one because i found myself changing setups too often. I keep one w/ the head trammed and the vise indicated and the other is for more odd setups. The Lagun is beefier and I use it for heavier milling jobs.

Besides you can never have too many tools.

Re: Tools and Garages cool section

Here's my workshop. I don't have the space that you guys in the east have, but I make due.

Yep that is Lambeau up on the wall there good eye:thumbsup:. The place has been known to get a little rowdy after the bar closes, you never know is going to be in the recliner the next morning!l:)

Don't forget the dog bed, :boring:eek:r is that his when the Misses won't let him in?
The dog bed is for the my golden retriever (named Lambeau), but I have been known to sleep on it as well, Lonesome George style!!:beers:

zman you had to bring up pex tubing i built this barn about 5 years ago i to put insulation down there is 2000 thousand foot of pex tubing in my floor when the contactor poured concrete (that is the only thing i contacted out)i told him not to cut the floor well he cut it anyway my insureance paid me for materials about 2000.00 bucks but that didn t help with my heat problem so i had to go with a radiant tube heater it works well but not as good as floor heat as for the contractor he went out of bisiness but my insureance company still has a law suit i have pics of my floor before it was poured but not on a digital camera
