The only thing I can imagine, is that a lot of people must have lost thier finges from Camaro fans over the years.

 

on my 84 camaro on the housing that goes around the fan it is embeded into the housing "caution fan" ill get a pic

 

I looked at that car at the auction. The passenger side fender didn't fit right, that bothered me. Sold for 76K I think. It wasn't that nice for sure.

Why wouldn't that car have the 327 fender emblems ? Anyone know?

yea I noticed that car it sold for $69K gotta love the steel wheel's and hubcap's , corvettes pretty much all wear their original hubcaps and steel wheel's now and on the camaro's it's getting more popular each year !!!!

just the body is number 001. The vin is 16 and it's LOS car so there had to be a bunch of Norwood cars before this. Still is a cool car but much of what they claim can not be verified.

Wasn't the first camaro actually called "The Panther" that made it's debut in late 1966?

I don't think they claim it was the first VIN # camaro but the first camaro off the assembly line and if I understand this correctly the vins and cowl tag number's being two different thing's 001 on the cowl tag put's it as the first one to be built at that plant ? correct ?

 

Not quite correct. It would be the first coupe built in Van Nuys that had deluxe interior. There may have been a few standard interior cars and convertibles built before it.

 

N000013 is still alive and well. May 66 build date out of Norwood, pilot program car, Fisher Body# 46, convertible with Deluxe interior. More info is coming available, so there may be more than this out there.....

LOS #1 that sold at BJ last month lost his claim as oldest survining Vin though!

Yes, Panther was the pre-production name used in all the magazines. Near production, they switched it to Camaro, supposedly it means "Friend".

YEP ! thats right scott , and thats why the vin's don't match the cowl tag's
